If you even remotely follow African fashion, then you most probably have come across the name Millen Magese.

The Tanzanian model is as super as supermodels come. She has graced covers, walked runways and featured in editorials and ad campaigns across the globe.

Below are 3 things you should know about the Tanzanian beauty who is so much more than just a pretty face.

1.Miss Tanzania

Millen’s launch into modelling and fashion began in 2001 after she beat tens of other girls in her home country to win the coveted Miss Tanzania title.

In 2015, Millen was recognized by BBC as an unsung African hero for her work with the Millen Magese Foundation which drives awareness about Endometriosis in Africa and beyond.

EME boss Banky W, star singer Iyanya and Cool FM OAP, Freeze are currently in Cape Town, South Africa on the bill of Samsung as part of the Samsung GALAXY Note II unveiling.

An exicited Banky W tweeted at his fans as he arrived in Cape Town: “Kicking it with the gang in Capetown, South Africa. We’re here for the Samsung Note II Unveiling.. If you’re in the area hit me up”. Iyanya also tweeted and posted some photos.

3. Born In Africa Festival

Millen will be gracing the very first edition of the Born In Africa Festival on the 16th of December, along with Nigerian supermodel, Oluchi, and stars like Davido, Tiwa Savage, D’banj, Awilo Longomba, Burna Boy and more. The event which is powered by Access Bank and produced by Livespot will feature musical performances as well as fashion shows by designers, Tiffany Amber, David Tlale and Torlowei.
