Davido’s 2017 hit, Fall continues to do impressive numbers. The song whose video currently holds the record for the most streamed Nigerian music video on YouTube has now also become the longest charting Nigerian song on Billboard.

The said song made its debut on the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart of the Billboard in the second week of December 2018; a feat that Davido was very much excited to reveal via his Instagram page.

Whaaaaaaattt?????!!!! THANK YOU AMERICA!!!! 🇺🇸

Fall has gone on to enjoy a total of four weeks on the said chart, making it the first song by a Nigerian artiste to do so. In the past, Nigerian singers like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Adekunle Gold, Asa, Patoranking and Simi have landed on various Billboard charts, but none has stayed on the chart for up to four weeks.

What this means for Davido

His prolonged stay on the Billboard chart is a pointer to the fact that ‘Fall’ is enjoying massive radio spin and streams in the US. The singer had earlier confirmed the interest of the US in the said song during a recent interview in the UK.

“Fall is not even the song I wanted people to know before, but in America, they play it on the radio every 20 minutes…”.

This comes after his historic soldout concert at London’s 20,000 capacity 02 Arena. The singer has also made it know that his goal is to sell out America’s Madison Square Garden of 20,000 capacity.

Going by how much interest the US has taken to his music, this feat might not be farfetched.
