Former Militant Leader, Ateke Tom Celebrates One Year Anniversary As King

It’s been one year since the ex-leader of the Niger Delta Vigilante, Ateke Tom became the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom in Rivers state.

The widely notorious militant leader who surrendered during the amnesty period of President Yaradua in 2009 and was granted clemency, has created a new path for himself by becoming a King in his hometown of Okochiri in Okirika LGA.

His kingship was upheld and recognized by the governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike who was at the coronation ceremony in Okirika LG in the company of other dignitaries of the state.

One year on, Ateke gathered well-wishers and people of all walks of life from across the region and beyond to celebrate is first year anniversary as King of Okochiri.

The event saw the likes of ace actor, Pete Edochie in attendance and many other high profile guests.
