Grammys 2018: Controversy Courts The ‘Album Of The Year’ Category

The announcement for the 2018 Grammy nominations has sparked a lot of conversations: one of the most sought-after categories excludes caucasian men.

Many music enthusiasts had predicted that the competition for album of the year would see British Star, Ed Sheeran grab a nomination for his Album ‘Divide’.

The 2017 edition of the Grammys received backlash as the same category was criticized for a lack of diversity and inclusiveness: fans felt that thE Beyonce’s album Lemonade deserved the prize in place of Adele’s 25.

However this year, Jayz, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Childish Gambino were all nominated for the 2018 Grammy’s which has not happened in the history of the Grammys for nineteen years, while Ed Sheeran was nowhere to be found to the dismay of his fans.
