Following the death of the Iconic role interpreter and thespian, Pa Moses Olaiya Adejumo AKA Baba Sala, his children have taken to social media to mourn their father.
The prolific actor and filmmaker who passed on at 10 p.m on Sunday night in his Ilesha home after a prolonged but undisclosed illness had an unmatched legacy as an actor and pacesetter in the movie industry.
His daughter, Oyindamola Adejumo Ayibiowu wrote:
‘I know someday you’ve got to go, but the memory of your good works lives on!. Goodnight my great dad, Moses Olaiya Adejumo (Baba Sala) I am proud to be your daughter, your legacy lives on’
Also mourning his late dad, his son, Adejumo Boisala Emmanuel wrote ‘my daddy is gone, finally gone home to glory. I will miss you so much daddy. I love you so much Daddy. I love you so much but God loves you more. Goodnight my mentor, father, teacher, gist partner. My daddy is gone,’ he wrote.
Born in 1936, Baba Sala who is widely referred to as the father of modern Yoruba comedy. The veteran actor began his career in show business as a highlife musician in 1964 with a group known as the Federal Rhythm Dandies. He later delved into the world of filmmaking and stage comedy until he retired in the late 90’s.
