Big Brother Naija finalist, Tobi Bakre, is out here breaking new grounds and constantly carving a Niche for himself in the entertainment industry.
The 24-year old ex-housemate was recently at NET TV where he talked about his latest movie projects, his travails in the make-believe industry as well as his new feat which saw him gain 1Million followers 7months after leaving the big brother house.
However, some critics believe that Tobi is part of the bandwagon of celebrities who buy fake followers on Instagram, in other to meet a certain standard.
Here’s what Bakre had to say:
‘I will never buy followers because I am not so concerned about my following on social media. I am more concerned about my community and the people who follow what I have to say.
Don’t get me wrong, it is cool to have one million followers but it just gives you recognition for brands that want you to work with them because you have the numbers, but besides, it’s more about your community responding to you when you really need them.’
Tobi adds that not all followers are your real lovers. ‘In fact, some of them just follow you because they want to watch you, some just follow you because of your fashion sense, but the numbers that really matter are those who I get to speak with and learn from.‘
Speaking on his new found love for acting, Tobi says it’s an opportunity to take new grounds.
‘I am currently working with DSTV on a new campaign and I am loving every bit of it. DStv helps to visualize concepts and brings the best out of me as a creative person.’
