2018 will go down as a bittersweet year for Nigerian football star Odion Ighalo. The Ajegunle born forward this weekend moved into his multi-million naira mansion in Lekki to reward himself for an otherwise challenging year.

He became a household name after a series of great performances for his English club Watford and was called up to the national team in 2015. Just two years later, he made a transfer to Chinese club side Changchun Yatai for a stunning £20 million.

However, in spite of his personal achievements – scoring 21 goals and finishing the season as the second highest goal scorer in the league- the club got relegated.

That hasn’t stopped Ighalo for celebrating his own year. His new house was shown off on his wife’s Instagram stories where her excitement was evident. The couple got married nine years ago and have three children together.
