A few days ago, popular gospel musician and owner of the property, Mr Yinka Ayefele had raised an alarm that the state government had marked the building for demolition and wondered why because according to him, the building had all the necessary permits and approval from the government.

“Music House has been in existence for almost 10 years and we have all necessary documents backing the building from relevant government agencies.

“If we actually contravened the building law, why did the Commissioner always send us press release for use on behalf of the government,” Ayefele questioned.

The station’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Promotions, David Ajiboye had written on Facebook late on Tuesday that the demolition notice was issued because “(1) The staff canteen in the premises was not approved. (2) The spiral staircase was not in the approved plan. (3) The mast was not in the approved plan (4) The fence was not in the approved plan”

Ajiboye also wrote that “….and therefore the entire N800 million edifice where almost 150 people make their daily bread have to go down. You are all invited to the demolition show at the Music House tomorrow.”

Members of Staff of Fresh FM owned by popular gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele have been thrown into confusion as the Oyo State Government has made good it’s threat to demolish the radio station. .. The Government had issued a demolition notice as the building was found to be sttucturally defective and poses danger to the general public. Thus they were advised to vacate the building in three days or face the Law. While reacting to the unfortunate incident, Ayefele through his publicist, David Ajiboye, said that the demolition of the edifice which houses his radio station and music studio is politically motivated. .. We don’t see it as a threat; instead we see it as a challenge because the planned demolition of the music house is politically motivated. When the governor visited the studio in 2016, he said people told him to demolish the building because Ayefele was not in his camp. The building was approved in June 2008 as a business premise; that is over 10 years ago,” he said. This is a developing story More to follow.
