The FIFA 2018 world cup in Russia is already in full gear and so far, there have been 26 goals scored in 12 matches that have been played, making for an average of 2.17 goals per match.

The current highest goal scorer of the competition is Portugal skipper and World footballer of the year Cristiano Ronaldo who netted a hattrick against Spain. Denis Cheryshev from host country Russia and Spain’s Diego Costa have both scored braces.

In no particular order, we have selected the best 5 goals so far in the first round of matches in the group stage.
