It has been a happy ending for Adedayo Adebowale following his expulsion by the Redeemer’s University for criticising its management.

At the time, Adedayo, president of the student association and a prospective graduate from the Theatre Arts department, had accused the school of displaying religious bias, among other things, on his Facebook.

He was summoned by the institution’s authorities and expelled on October 12, 2017, as a result.

The school’s management said he chose to “tarnish the image of the university with a pack of lies like he had done previously.”

Adedayo later dragged RUN to court over the matter. But both parties later agreed to settle the case out of court.

The 24-year-old Ogun state native excitedly shared on Friday that he had finally been allowed to graduate and had been presented with his certificate. He graduated with a Second Class (Honours) Upper Division.

Adedayo’s certificate.

“I struggled and bled for 10 solid years at 4 different Universities for this day,” he said excitedly.

“Today is not the day to say if my fight and struggle was right or wrong at these Universities. We are all different people and we have different purposes and visions. Mine is to preach and practice love. To stand for what is right even till death.”

Adedayo further said though he could have approached the matter a bit differently, he had no regrets about his actions.

“Could I have aired my grievances and opinions in better ways? Yes. Do I feel sorry for the pain I must have put my Family and friends through; emotionally, financially, psychologically and otherwise? Totally,” he said.

“But I do not and will never regret any action that I took innocently that positively impacted, enriched and made the lives of others better. Simply because this is what God created me for. To serve, to live my life for others and never will I trade this rare attribute for anything else even if it makes me suffer.”
