A Twitter user, Ayodeji Adeniji aka ‘Pablo’ has confessed to swindling scores of unsuspecting users on Twitter, hours after he was revealed as a con artist.
According to NET findings, trouble loomed for Pablo when a Twitter user @nuellaa_ag tweeted that ‘she’ had recently lost her job and solicited for financial support to survive the Christmas period. The appeal was successful as hundred of Nigerians rallied around her and garnered hundreds of retweets.
After a few days twitter users began to transfer some money to the bank account ‘she’ provided, but a smart user began asking questions an raised an alarm.
Recall that Mr. Adeniji, 21, who was involved in the #keepthechangebae hashtag saga had previously provided the account details when he had an argument with a lady after a date went sour in March. The lady later refunded the N5000 he which he spent taking her on the said date.
Pablo met his Waterloo when it turned out that the Wema Bank account information provided by @nuellaa_ag actually matched the name of ‘Adeniji Olaoluwa Ayodeji’, @PabloAyodeji.
After several days of denial, Adeniji finally confessed to the crime, blaming it on being broke. He also apologised to siblings whose bank accounts he repeatedly used to swindle Twitter users before he was caught.
The case is still trending heavily on social media as several Nigerians have called for his arrest.
