Few days after a video of her speaking undiluted pidgin English went viral on the internet, Dekpe Kate from Delta state may soon become the next big broadcast star.
In the video, Grace was seen narrating the bad omen that had befallen her after her properties and source of livelihood were destroyed in the floods that continue to devastate many parts of the country. She lamented that water from the resultant flood destroyed her poultry farm, killing about 300 birds.
As she shared her story, viewers could not but marvel at the suave and fluency the woman used to communicate what transpired, with many people even suggesting that her brand of ‘pidgin’ deserved to be studied in tertiary institutions.
In a new update, former Presidential adviser, Reno Omokri who reached out to the lady to offer her financial assistance, has revealed on his Twitter page that Nigerian Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, who owns Siverbird TV has offered the lady a job as a pidgin English newscaster in his TV station.
The Senator who is also very active on the social media platform confirmed Mr Omokri’s tweet by retweeting the post.
