Residents of a community in Ijegun, Ikotun area of Lagos, were at the mercy of possible fire outbreak after the content of a leaking pipeline spilled into the streets on Wednesday (yesterday).
Military operatives and policemen arrived at the community to calm the situation by supervising the scooping of the fuel. The Emergency unit was also at the scene to neutralise the danger.
In the streets, the fuel flowed down the roads as some residents scooped with bowls and gallons.
There was no recorded mishap during the incident.
Some lives were lost and several properties destroyed two months ago in Abule Egba, when oil spillage from a vandalised pipeline led to explosion and huge inferno.
