Asides the series of excitement and appreciation observed during the just concluded tour to the south – eastern part of Nigeria, where the MTN Foundation donated Medical equipment and health supplies to hospitals in Anambra, Ebonyi and Imo state, the presence of culture was not left out.

Breaking of Kola nut:

The kola nut is widely accepted as an honour in the welcoming of strangers and the saying goes that kola nut only understands local languages. That is, while breaking kola nuts for consumption, local languages are commonly used in the prayers of blessing that are associated with the presentation of kola nut.

Colourful Traditional Attire:

The average Igbo man by tradition is expected to have a title, either given to him by his father or one that he assumes and takes up himself and this is reflected in his dressing. From the red caps, traditional beads, walking stick down to the elephant horn, all of these signifies respect, prestige, honour and above all culture of the Igbo community.
