Real Madrid started off the 2017/2018 season with a win over Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup match on August 8, 2017.
With a dominant display over their rival, Real Madrid won the game against Manchester United 2-1 in Skopje to lift a fourth Super Cup title.
It continued what has been a smooth ride over their rivals for Real Madrid across all UEFA club competitions, with the UEFA Champions League trophy also resting pretty in their cabinet.
Also, one should note that since coach, Zinedane Zidane, took over the club in 2015, the Bernabeu giants have won more major trophies than any team in the world.
That’s one Spanish league title, two Champions League titles, two European Super Cup and one Club World Cup. That’s six out of eight trophies competed for.
That makes it an average of 97 days per trophy for Zidane, with the 2016 Spanish league title and 2017 Copa Del Rey being the only competitions he has failed to win since his appointment.
The 2-1 win also made it the 66th consecutive match that Real Madrid have scored in, with 181 goals scored in that amazing run.
Other than this, Real Madrid have become the first club to win the UEFA Super Cup in consecutive seasons since AC Milan in the early ’90s.
And the Super Cup win makes it the 11th successive international final the Spanish giants have won.
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has now lost lost all three UEFA Super Cup matches he has led his team to play.
