Dre from ‘Power’ talks about his Nigerian heritage and how it makes him strive for excellence

Rotimi Akinosho (known simply in R&B circles as Rotimi and better known as Ghost’s sidekick Dre on the television series Power) clearly hasn’t forgotten his Nigerian origin. The 28 year old was on a the celebrity radio show Breakfast Club and proudly ascribes his continuous quest to be better to his Nigerian heritage.

Telling hosts DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamange tha God of his mother’s support for his career path, he also credits her for pushing him to be the best at what he is. Apart from being an actor, he’s also a singer who is signed to 50 Cent’s record label G-Unit Records.

Rotimi’s parents (Yoruba father and Igbo mother) are Nigerian immigrants to the United States where he was born.
