Kim Kardashiain‘s insurance company, American International Group, AIG, has filed a lawsuit against Pascal Duvier and his company, Protect Security for $6.1 million.
The suit which was filled in Delaware yesterday claims the security company “carelessly, negligently and recklessly performed their security, monitoring and protection and surveillance of Kim and the private apartment where she was staying for the Paris fashion week in October 2016.
The insurance company paid Kim after she was robbed of jewellery worth millions of dollars two years ago. In the document, AIG in the suit accused the bodyguards of leaving Kim Kardashian West alone in her room and failed to correct several security breaches including a broken lock and a malfunctioning intercom.
After the incident in which the reality star admitted to fearing that she was going to be killed (she was tied and gagged while naked and placed in a bathtub), she parted ways with Duvier a month later.
“They grabbed me and took me into the hallway. I was wearing a bathrobe, naked underneath. Then we went into the room again and they pushed me on the bed. And, it was this time, they tied me up with plastic cables and taped my hands, then they put tape over my mouth and my legs,” she said in an interview.
The former bodyguard, however, wasn’t fired; instead, he asked to be reassigned to another client, saying that he felt as though he let Kim Kardashian down by not protecting her enough.
