The awards season is very much in full bloom and Lady Gaga has been making all the right fashion moves. Last night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles California, the actress and singer showed up looking tres chic and oh so sexy in a white Christian Dior dress fresh off the brand’s Paris Haute Couture fashion week runway show.
Her beauty look was just as fierce as her dress. She rocked a bold dark red lip, smokey eyes and her blonde hair was styled in a slick do.
The seventh edition of the annual music awards night The Headies went down on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites and as usual, it brought with it a lot of romp and paparazzi as celebrities and fashionistas, trooped on the massive yellow carpet in their bests, smiling and posing for the cameras
Long, short, sequined, bland, edgy, safe, the dresses came in handy and added to the awe of the event. While a few dared to show some cleavage, others chose their tanned legs and a few more did both.
In no particular order, here are 10 of the most amazing gowns that rocked the red carpet.
Toke Makinwa: Petite Rythm FM OAP, Toke Makinwa is popular for her show stopping outfits and this time again, she hits the spot.
Queen Ure Okezie: The blue colour is known to favour fair skinned ladies and it did just that for Ure Okorie. She shone brightly in her mono strapped blue corset gown. Her choice of silver accessories added to the beauty of the look.
Lady in monochrome dress: Monochromes have in recent times become a regular feature on the red carpet and as usual, this lady pulled the look especially with her brown clutch purse of the same pattern.
Talia Hayward: The phrase, ‘Less is More’ is what comes to fore with this look. The Big Brother Africa star looks stunning in this body clinging gown and her up-do hair and gold brooch and earrings, made it a lot more stunning.
Adaora Oleh: Pretty Adaora Oleh rocked this piece, looking chic in the black mono strap corset gown. Her well tanned legs shone through the long slit, adding a pop of style to the look.
Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi: Colour red couldn’t have done any more justice than it did for Beat FM OAP, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi who decided to spice up her red gown with a silver brooch, earrings, shoes and not forgetting her legs which peeped through the gown’s long slit.
Kefee: After she put up a rather drab appearance at the Sound Sultan show, gospel singer, Keffi got her groove back and stole the show in her silver sequined halter-neck gown. Her signature hair style also contributed to the appeal the look had. Her decision to make do with a dropping earrings and a clutch purse, both in silver colour, turned out perfect.
Layole Oyatogun: Siverbird’s page 3 girl, Layole Oyatogun will not have been forgiven, had she hit it wrong with her dramatic monochrome gown and her orange shows add a pop of colour to the ensemble.
Lady in white gown: This gown didn’t seem like it could have been rocked any better. She apparently understood the rule that disallows the use of necklaces for halter necks and played by it.
Emma Nyra: With just the right accessory, this tall slim lady who teased us in Iyanya’s ‘Ur waist’ video did justice to this gown.

Her fiancé, Christian Carino was just as taken by her beauty as the rest of us, and he couldn’t keep his hands off her.
She might not have taken home any awards for her stunning performance in ‘A Star Is Born’ but she definitely won in the style department.
