2019 election is already underway- or just about to begin- across Nigeria. After a week’s postponement, Nigerians are out to choose their leaders for the next for years. With over 80 million voting today, it is expected that the exercise might be a bit tedious and outrightly rowdy in some places.
But not in VGC, the highbrow estate in Lagos where voters have composed themselves in a way that is unusual to most Nigerians.
In a tweet posted by a Mrs. Lawson on Twitter, they’re seen quietly seated, waiting for INEC officials to arrive. They might have well have been seating in a church or classroom.
The orderliness was lost on many of their compatriots who have been commending the orderliness of the voters.

If we valued human dignity in Nigeria, most (if not all) polling units should be set up something like this. But we don’t value human dignity, only the elite’s dignity.

VGC guys arrange themselves for voting. Last voting season, they even had food & drinks brought by some residents

Hopefully, the entire country can behave like VGC residents someday.
