Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli is of the opinion that the court injunction which stopped her movie, Okafor’s Law from being premiered early this year was an act of sabotage.

As Oboli got ready to release the movie; Jude Idada, a Canadian based writer accused her of stealing his story and idea for the movie.

In an interview with NET TV, the actress said she kept mum because various versions of the story were being spread by the media.

‘The case is still in court, although we won a part of it. I decided to keep quiet about the case because there was already a story out there before the case was taken to court, and once the case was taken to court, I really couldn’t talk about it anymore. I am a law abiding citizen, and I decided to abide by the law which states that you cannot talk about a case once it is in court’.

‘Even though not everybody adheres to that, they will still talk, they will still put stuff out in the press and make it look like it did not come from them, but I did not want to do that. It’s not about being vindictive, one day the whole truth will come out’, she added.

When asked if she felt if it was a personal attack, the actress said
‘Yes, at a point, it started to feel like it was a personal attack because it did not make any sense to me. It still doesn’t. I began to ask myself, why would anyone want to do this to me? you know the truth. But you know what, people are always people and you’ve got to accept the good the bad and the ugly’.
