About 18 people were reported dead on Sunday, August 6 following the attack on St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State by an unknown gunman.
Along with the dead, 11 people were injured in the attack and receiving treatment.
According to a police source, ‘We received reports that over 30 Ozubulu indigenes based in South Africa had been killed over a disagreement between a man, identified as Bishop, and his fellow Ozobulu indigene.
‘It was said that the feud concerned a failed business deal.’
Meanwhile, the Anambra State governor, Willy Obiano condemned the killings, calling it bizarre and inhumane.
At the moment, no arrests from any of the embattled camps have been made.
