Yesterday, Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo made a stop at the New Afrikan Shrine as the annual Felabration celebration came to a climax yesterday.
In a video currently trending online, Professor Osibanjo is seen standing on the stage, flanked by Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti, as he addressed attendees who have been participating in the week-long event created to celebrate the life-time of late Afrobeat icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti who passed on 21 years ago.
Osibanjo in his address prayed for the country to be better and also prayed that Nigeria Youths will be great in the country.

However, his host, Femi Kuti reiterated his decision not to support Osibanjo’s principal and Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari because of his father, Fela. Femi said he was making his stance known in public, just as he did in private with the Vice President who was also standing beside him.
Fela and Buhari had a very sour relationship and the former always criticised the latter, while he was Nigeria’s military Head of State.
The Vice-President is highest serving Nigerian government official to visit the Shrine. This is coming months after French President, Emmanuel Macron made a visit to the iconic venue.
