The very anticipated United States National Football League (NFL) kicked off yesterday across the country as the different teams battle for glory this season.
One of the issues that have been a big subject in the NFL in recent times has been the controversy around players influenced by Colin Kaepernick have been using the national anthem as channels to protest for better rights and against police brutality towards blacks in America.
But for a moment during Thursday night’s NFL opener in Philadephia, no one cared whether NFL players should stand for the national anthem and focused instead on popular late 80s R’n’B group Boyz II Men.
The R&B trio who are all Philadelphia native stole the show when they took the field in Philadelphia sending fans into a frenzy as they performed a glorious rendition of the national anthem before kickoff of the game between home team Philadephia Eagles vs Atlanta Falcons.
Fans at a point couldn’t take in the surreal feeling anymore, chanting loud in awe as the group sang side-by-side, decked in their Eagles jerseys.
Immediately the group finished their performance, the internet went into a frenzy as fans and spectators commended them for their impressive, soulful and ageless harmonizing.
